Frances Scott Dunlap, 79, of Belton and Kansas City, Mo., passed away March 28, 2009. Born June 10, 1930, she was the only child of Richard and Lucy Wilson Dunlap. Her great grandfather, George W. Scott, founded the City of Belton in 1871. Scotty's early years were spent in the original Scott home. Later she lived at a home on Scott Street built by her grandparents, Robert Cowan and Fanny Scott Wilson. She retained ownership of this house until her death. She also had a home in Kansas City. Scotty's early education was at Notre Dame de Sion and Sunset Hill School. She attended Hockaday and Vassar Colleges. She careered in the Scientific Library and Linda Hall and at "The Little Shirt Company" founded by her mother. Her memberships include the Junior League of Kansas City, Friends of Art, the Rockhill Tennis Club and Lock Lloyd Country Club. Scotty had a wide spectrum of devoted friends. To quote a lifelong friend, "She had a quick mind and wit and most of all, a great heart." She is survived by cousins, Sue Scott Eversull of Prairie Village, Kan., Williams Wilson of Charleston, SC, and Suzanne Seyfried of Salt Lake City, Utah.
