Samuel Bedlow Dunscomb married Lucy Claiborne DuVal on February 28, 1790 at Trinity Episcopal Church in New York City.Samuel's half brother, Andrew, was hired by the Commonwealth of Virginia to assist with Revolutionary War records.Apparently Samuel visited his brother in Richmond where he met Lucy Claiborne DuVal, daughter of Samuel DuVal, Jr.Her Aunt, Philadelphia DuVal, married Andrew. We can only speculate why they married in New York City.Apparently her Father had not been frugal, to say the least, and funds were probably not available to sponsor a wedding. They had three children who were baptized at Trinity Church. When Samuel died Lucy moved to Kentucky to be near her father.
