Daniel Dunstan, Sycamore, Ill.
St. Charles (Illinois) Chronicle, Sept. 9, 1915:
Elgin - W. M. Sayer of the D.C. Cook Publishing company went to Aurora Saturday morning to attend the annual reunion of the One Hundred and Fifth regiment. He is the only Elgin member of the regiment. Mr. Sayer was a member of a squad of Wayne youths who joined company F at Wheaton fifty-three years ago Saturday morning. Daniel Dunstan of Sycamore was colonel of the regiment and General Benjamin Harrison was brigade commander for a considerable period during the war. Sayer was one of Harrison's orderlies, and in that capacity rode by the side of "Little Ben" for miles. At the reunion a year ago only 55 members of the regiment responded to roll call. Captain T.S. Rogers of Downers Grove is the only original captain of the regiment living.
