In Orphans Court Minutes-Volume 2 (1828-1831)-the division of Josiah's estate is listed among his legal heirs. This on pages 57 & 58. You can order copies of this record from the Autautga County Probate Office, the Probate office is in a separate building from the Courthouse, I do not have the address.
Each heir received the sum of $1109.80.
They are: Thomas DURDEN, Benjamin DURDEN, James DURDEN, John LIVINGSTON & wife Cynthia DURDEN, James THOMPSON &__________ wife(name was not listed), Josiah DURDEN, and Gilly DURDEN as guardian of Emily DURDEN, Gilly DURDEN as guardian of Charles B. DURDEN, Gilly DURDEN as guardian of George W. F. de la DURDEN, Gilly DURDEN as guardian of Rebeca DURDEN, Gilly DURDEN as guardian of Oliver Perry DURDEN, and Gilly DURDEN as guardian of Washington Lafayett DURDEN.
Jacob W. DURDEN received $650.00 in payment for his duties as administrator.

My interest in the DURDEN family is through the COKER family. If anyone has information on Eliza COKER and Jacob W. DURDEN please share it with me. They married in Autauga County, Alabama on 1 DEC 1844. I find them enumerated in the 1850 federal census in Dallas County, Alabama. Jacob W. DURDEN was born about 1823 in Alabama, in 1870 they are enumerated in the federal census in Conecuh County, Alabama. Known children are Erastus J., Lena C., Elizabeth, Anna and Della W. Durden.
