The Patrick Durnin I'm looking for was born in 1858, so he's a generation later than yours. Mine was actually born in Liverpool, but the family was from Drogheda, Louth, Ireland and returned there in time for Patrick to be enrolled in the Presentation School (not sure what that is -- something to do with church) at age 3. He had brothers Daniel, Peter, and James and sister Kate. His father was Patrick Durnin and his mother Mary Curry. He married Ellen Carr in St. Peter's, Drogheda in 1879, and they had a son Patrick in 1880 who died young. Then theyhad a daughter Mary Anne whom they left in Ireland when they went to Boston about 1883. They never sent for Mary Anne (she was raised by the Carrs) and I've been in contact with a descendant of hers still in Ireland. Have you checked Griffith's lists for Sylvester or Hugh?
