I have also been tracing my ancestry to the Dusome, Francois/Clermont, Francoise, in the Penetanguishene, Ontario area. My grandmother just uncovered a document she had tucked away with a piece of the fushia tafeta wedding dress that Francoise wore when she married Francois Dusome in Red River, Alberta where she was a member of the Wild Rice Tribe. I am speaking with a geneologist to get more info on Francoise Clermont as it is not clear what became of her other than she & Francois Dusome had a daughter, Marie Dusome.(Francois Dusome remarried Elizebeth Giroux on Sept. 28, 1841, in Penetanguishene.)
Marie Dusome married Jean-Baptiste (David) Chevrette on Feb. 7,1860 in Penetanguishene, they had a daughter Philomene Chevrette.
Philomene Chevrette married Théodule Duquette on feb 20, 1882, in Lafontaine, they had a daughter Marie-Jeanne Duquette, my Great Grandmother.(Théodule Duquette remarried Adeline (Delina) Chevrette on Sept 7,1925, in Lafontaine.)
Marie-Jeanne Duquette married Olivier Brasseur on June 8, 1909 in Lafontaine.
That is all the info I have for the moment, will advise if I find more
Thanx Michelle Smith
