I agree that the Quakers had some PR problems, but the gentry were not 'noble' and were not in line for the throne.
Regarding the Eachus English royal connection:Robert Eachus's wife, Elizabeth Harry, was the daughter of Elizabeth Brinton and Hugh Harry.Thomas Allen Glenn, in his "Welsh Founders of Pennsylvania," alleged that Hugh Harry was a lineal descendant of Edward III of England (v. 1, pp. 136-38).This statement was repeated and republished by many, including the usually precise Gary Boyd Roberts in his "The Royal Descent of 500 Immigrants."Unfortunately, Glenn was wrong, and was proven so by Neil D. Thompson in his article, "Hugh Harry, Quaker Immigrant to Pennsylvania," The American Genealogist, v. 69, p. 25. However, even if Hugh Harry lacked royal ancestry, he and his wife are responsible for one infamous lineal descendant--the late President (and Quaker, incidentally) Richard M. Nixon (see Gary Boyd Roberts, "Ancestors of American Presidents").
