I have recently found the lost Egan brother in my family tree. Michael Egan or Eagan was born in Ireland, (probably Longford c1820) married Maria in Ireland, emigrated to USA 1846-1849 (his brother Andrew and parents Andrew Egan & Bridget nee Foley were known to have gone to the US as well) and Michael & Maria had the following children:
Bridget Egan b. c1841 Ireland (married John Quirk) Sarah Egan b. c1846 Ireland (married William Taffey, died 1873 NJ) Mary Ann Egan b 1849 New Jersey (never married died 1926 NJ) Thomas Egan b. 1852 NJ (married Mary/Maria Skelton) Julia C. Egan b. 1855 NJ John Egan b. c1857 NJ Margaret J. Egan b.c1859 NJ Clara F. Egan b.1862 NJ d. 1862 NJ Michael Egan b. c1866 NJ
Michael died in August 1888, and his wife Maria died Sep 1885.
Marriage and christening records have been found for this family at St Peters Catholic Church. Several members of the family are buried in the Holy Name (St Peters) Cemetery in Grave 3 North E.
I would love to make contact with descendants of this family. I am descended from Michael's brother Andrew, who also went to America, but from there decided to go to Australia.
