I had posted some erroneous information before.According to our family records, Jane Eager's parents were not Jason and Jane but were John Eager and Catherine Spring. As I understand it, Jason was John's brother but I'm not sure if that's the same guy as the James you mentioned especially since the Eagers seemed to be fascinated by the letter "j" for first names.Jane was my gggg grandma and married William Bennett.I descend from 4 generations of Bennetts from William and Jane to my Mother, Julia Bennett, 1911-1992 who married Marion John Williams in the late 20s.I was born in '44.Anecdotally, John Eager lost a leg in the War of 1812 battle for Fort Erie and his son was wounded in the same battle, although not seriously.William Bennett, John's Eager's son-in-law was also a War of 1812 vet but never saw battle. He was only about 16 at the time.
Just one more tidbit:
William and Jane's son Royal Zebulon Bennett, a Civil War vet, married one Nancy Alvira Duncklee. She descends from the Rev. John Lathrop, a puritan minister who came to America on the Griffin in 1634.He and his flock, in 1639, founded the town of Barnstable, Massachusettes. His original house still stands as part of an historical library in what is now Centerville, Ma - next to Barnstable. From the Rev. John descend 4 U.S. Presidents including both Bush Sr. and Jr, FDR, and U.S. Grant as well as a myriad of other notable americans. One of John's daughters married Samuel Fuller Jr. who, as a teenager, came over with his parents/siblings on the Mayflower. That's the line FDR descends from.John's granddaughter, Mary Lathrop married William French. They had a number of children including Hannah from whom the Bush presidents descend and Mary (married Nathaniel Duncklee) from whom my line descends.
