In the 1900 Census of East Finley Twp., Washington Co., PA, on p. 188A, there is a Charley L. EALY, age 18, born Dec 1881, with wife Amia (the handwriting is bad, so I suppose it could be "Annie"), age 18, b. Feb 1882.They have been married one year and have a daughter, Yoldia (Goldia?), who is a few months old (can't read how many months). The record shows that they and their parents were all born in PA.Charley is a farmer, who is renting his farm.
It's actually too bad Charley married so young, because otherwise we would have found him living with his parents in the 1900 census. As it is, the 1890 census was destroyed and he was born after the 1880 census, so it isn't going to be so easy.
Charley is undoubtedly related to the other EALY's in East Finley Twp. -- descendants of George EALY and Eva Christina STROH-SCHNEIDER -- a whole "cluster" of whom appear on pp. 191B and 192A of the same census.Unfortunately, Charley's immediate neighbors don't give us a clue as to who his parents might be, unless...
This census-taker's handwriting and spelling were not as bad as some, but not all that good, either.Charley is living two doors down from widow Sarah EARLEY, at least I think it's EARLEY, which could easily be a census-taker's mistake for EALY.Sarah is 51 years old, born in Apr 1849, in PA.Her mother was born in PA, her father in WV.All her children were born in PA, and they indicate both their parents were born in PA (i.e., Sarah's husband was born in PA).Sarah's children are:
Robert H., M, age 21, b. Nov 1878
Iona G., F, age 20, b. Mar 1880
Ive E., F, age 15, b. Apr 1885
Hattie B., F, age 14, b. Apr 1886
Zoe V., F, age 13, b. May 1887
James H., M, age 11, b. Dec 1888
Joseph B.C., M, age 6, b. Aug 1893
Well, it's a longshot.Sorry I couldn't be more help.
