Earhart Reunion
The Earhart Reunion will be held Sunday, June 12, at 10 AM at Black Oak Baptist Fellowship Hall on FM 69 five miles south of Como, TX.Each family should bring lunch for their family and cold drinks.Also, bring pictures, family history information or any family antiques.We will have a special table for these.We hope everyone can come.There is no charge for the reunion, but a love offering will be taken to help with the expenses of the fellowship hall, for the Black Oak Baptist Church.Nell Frost descendant of Godfrey Earhart who came to Hopkins County TX in 1856, homesteaded this farm , farmed , and was a country school teacher along with his son, Warren Earhart.The family came from Alabama in a covered wagon with all their children.They arrived in Hopkins County in December 1856.They attended church at Black Oak.And they were members there.Every since then, Earhart family members have attended Black Oak.Many Earharts are buried in the cemetery next to the church.We will have copies of Godfrey's teaching materials, the family and other historical items on exhibit.
