John Eason was a privateer fighting for the English Colonies during King George's War (1734=47). He was the captain of the ship called the Pollux. The sister ship was the Castor, captained by Adrian Man (and others). John Eason, married Catherine Cazalet Shurmur, the widow of Samuel Shurmur, a New York merchant and Burger. John left Mary Shurmur, the daughter of Catherine and Samuel, everything in his will. John was apparently killed in a navel battle with the French in the eastern Caribbean about 1747. His executors were John and Isaac Man (Adrian's children or some relatives of some kind). A witness in the proofing of the will was Ann Man of Bergen County, New Jersey. I would like to hear from other Eason or Man decendants, if you are out there.
