I am not a member of the Bowen or Eason family. However, I came across a copy of the following book and thought it was interesting so I picked it up. As follows:
"Mammy's Book" An Autobiography of Mrs. Bettie Bowen Eason This autobiography was begun in 1939 and was completed in 1954 when the author was 91 years old. Published in 1973 in Clarksdale, MS
This was written by Mrs. Bettie Bowen Eason who was born in cockrum, MS, a community in Desoto Co., on Dec. 6, 1863. It was intended for her family as a record of information and inspiration.
The daughter of Elizabeth Stevens Bowen and William Poston Bowen, Bettie married Edmund Epps Eason January 11, 1883. They lived in Tate Co., MS. In 1919 they moved to Olive Branch, MS where her husband was in a train accident and died in Memphis, TN Feb. 11, 1927.
