Molly,
Margaret "Peggy" Crawford m. William Eastham in Pulaski Co.,KY on 15 July 1802.These men, Crawford, Edward & Samuel Eastham, may possibly the be children of Margaret and William Eastham. She was the daughter of William & Elizabeth Crawford who were early residents of KY.In about 1803 they sold their KY holdings and moved to Ste.Genevieve, MO, which was still a French holding at that time.We feel sure Margaret and William Eastham joined the group going to Missouri. William Eastham settled on 800 arpens of land in 1803.In 1813 he claimed this property.(American State papers pg 42-43)It is believed he moved on after a few years.Margaret's father and mother had died by 1809. Her father's property was divided among his sons.It is presumed thedaughter's received their rewards at the time of their marriage. There were sons, James who moved to IL,Robert (my line) who moved to AR, William who also moved to AR and Thompson who moved on to Iowa.Thompson had remained in MO for several years. The Robert Crawford's stayed in AR until his death and then the son's moved on to Texas. They were in Lamar, Fannin and Hunt and after the civil war in Ellis Co. The daughter of James Crawford is said to be the first white woman to be buried in what is now known as Dallas. The descendants of this Crawford line scattered all over the Territory's of AR, OK and TX.You may e-mail me at: cole774@swbell.net.I will look forward exchanging information with you. Thanks for your reply.Alta
