I am related to the Eddie's you are searching for, and have extensive information on them, and some photographs, several which I know are Glencoe Eddies but do not know exactly which ones they are! Here is a bit of what I know;
William Eddie and Elizabeth McDonald came from Nairn Parish, Scotland in 1835, via New York, to Ekfrid Township, Ontario. They brought with them their 7 children (1 died at birth in Scotland):
Janet (1810-1882) Hugh (1812-?) John (1814-1880) William (1816-1895) Alexander (1818-1890) Jane (1819-1897) James (1821-1892)
Alexander married Esther Ann Fryer, who was born in New York State Dec of 1816. They had 12 children:
Jane Betsy (1842-1853) James (1843-1853) William (1845-1864) Mary Jane (1847-?) Solomon (1849-1932) Janet (1850-?) Hugh (1853-1853) James Alexander (1854-1942) Robert Alexander (1857-1945) Esther Ann Eddie (1859-?) Robert Alexander (1852-1853)
It seems you know that Esther Ann married John (I have 'Jack") McBean. I have only 2 of their children listed (Cora and George), and know that Esther and Jack went to the States - this is your connection?
Going back to the original immigrant family, William Eddie and Elizabeth McDonald:
William Eddie's parents were Hugh Eddie and Janet McBean, and Elizabeth's parents were Alexander McDonald and Margaret McLean, all from the Inverness area. So far, I know nothing more than their names.
William Eddie and Elizabeth McDonald are my great-great-great-great grandparents through their son William Eddie.
Please post again if this is who you are looking for.
