If you are still posting are interested in information you may have on the Eddies -- primarily that relating to Scotland.
We are descended from Jane Eddie (daughter of William Eddie and Elizabeth McDonald) who married Robert Landels Coulthard.I have a narrative written by someone who was descended from Jane (and Robert) as well as Jane's brother John Eddie and his wife Jane Seaton; it primarily describes life in the mid to late 1800s -- e.g., her grandparents John and Jane's immigration from Canada to Iowa (via an extended stay in Minnesota) and then her parents life in Iowa. There is very little about your William. However, I think he is mentioned in these paragraphs:
"Now I will relate the life of Jane Eddies family (Jane was my grandmother) as they go along with the Coulthard Clan.
