Sandi - Your information may very well be more accurate. As I noted in my original message, my info is from a genealogy program report (looks like Family Tree Maker) that was given to my mother by a distant cousin.Unfortunately, it is not very well referenced. In fact there are very few references, and none relative to the birth dates of the children of John Edes and Mary Tufts.
There are a couple of references that may be of interest to you, however. The birth of John Edes on 3/31/1651 in Lawford, England, is referenced to NEHGR, V.87, P.83-85.The death of Sarah Edes on 9/12/1736 in Southhold, NY, is referenced to NEHGR, V.102, P.265.And the marriage of John Edes (son of John Edes and Mary Tufts) to Grace Lawrence on 4/13/1698, in Charlestown, Mass, is referenced to Clarence Almon Torrey, "New England Marriages Prior To 1700", P.242.
As for the second Mary Edes, the report I have lists under the children of John Edes and Mary Tufts only "ii. MARY EDES, b. 1681".Since Edward Edes was also born in 1681, the listing of this Mary Edes is either in error or Mary and Edward would have had to be twins.Sorry, but that's all of the information that I have.
