Edington NY>TN>MO ca. 1790-1850
I'm hoping someone can help me identify the parents of two brothers, William C. Edington (bn. 1828 in TN) and James F. Edington (bn. 1825 in TN).Their first appearance is as consequtive entries in the 1850 census of Wayne Co., Missouri.Living with James F. is his widowed mother Lorania (also spelled Lurena), born 1790 in NC.A later census entry identifies New York as the place of their father's birth. There may have been another brother named David, born in TN in either 1815 or 1835 (bad handwriting by the census taker!)
Unfortunately that's all I have to go on: my "missing" Edington was born around 1790 (based on wife's age) in New York; was in Tennessee by 1825 and died before 1850.
There is a James Edington, aged 26-45 with a wife age 16-26 and a son under the age of 10 listed in the 1800 census for Queens Co., NY.This unidentified son might (?) be their father, but I can't find anything on this James.
Any help, leads or clues will be greatly appreciated.
Brian Eddington
P.S. There is another James F. Edington, born in MO in 1851 and later in Texas, that is sometimes a point of confusion. This James F. was the son of William C./nephew of James F. referred to above.
