Miss Grant, I really don't have any "information" for you except to say that 99 out of 100 Egglestons (or more) from New York state are indeed descended from Bygod Eggleston. While I can't tell from your description if Doctor Eggleston's family was from New York, if they were, it's a bet I'd take any day. My own Eggleston great grandparents were from near Kalamazoo (originally), coming to Mich from New York abt 1855 and they had Eggleston relatives already in that same area of Mich when they arrived. I strongly suspect that the vast majority, if not all, of the Eggleston's in Michigan are related. Regards. DK. ps. based on my own observations, one can tell if an adult Eggleston male's ancestors are descended from Bygod Eggleston simply by this (admittedly slight tongue-in-cheek)physical profile: 1. He will have blue eyes. 2. His head will be balding. 3. His ears will be prominent. 4.Or,not infrequently seen, all of the above may be present.
