Hi Karen and Georgia,I have been reading your messages here and I am a descendant of John Henry and Nettie Florence Holmes Ehrhardt. My John Henry, b. 5 Sept 1863, brother of William Martin Ehrhardt, b. 1860.Their father was John William Ehrhardt, b. Atlantic Ocean 1837(1832?).I have a written account from Rufus Ehrhardt that states Martin Ehrhardt and 2 brothers, George and John, and a distant cousin, Henry, better known by the older set as "Peco" Henry, came to America from Hanover, Germany. They settled in Ohio for a while, then came on to Missouri.Martin settled on the farm just north of Salisbury... John settled in the Prairie Valley neighborhood, northeast of Salisbury.... George settled on farm west of Salibury.(Unfortunately, the writing states the "I don't remember too much about this branch of the family.")The cousin Henry settled down in the Washington Church neighborhood, east of Prairie Valley, and south of the town of Prairie Hill.
Now, it gets really confusing because there are a lot of Johns, Henrys and Martins, and even 2 sets John Ehrhardts marrying 2 Netties.Karen, you mentioned you had a picture of Martin and Annie.I would love to have you scan that to me.Georgia, I gleaned a lot of your info into my family tree. You can look at my family tree if you will email me.And you, too, Karen. My family has been going to the Ehrhardt family reunions in September each year in Salisbury, MO,for a good 40 years. That is where I was able to get the Rufus Ehrhardt writings from Rex or John Jacob Ehrhardt about 20 years ago.He let me take it home and copy it and I returned the original to him.
I googled Martin Ehrhardt and the search engine brought me to your conversations.I wish I had done that a long time ago!I don't belong to the paid Ancestry.com, I try and find as much info by skirting around it.I will eventually join, but I seem to be learning a lot anyway.
