My wife is a granddaughter of Frank Eisenmenger. That is the Minnesota branch of the family.
I went to the University of Illinois and we visited with several of the Eisenmengers many times during my years in school. We knew Charlie and Leo, and visited often at the home of William Wendel. Many of their children still live in the Pesotum / Villa Grove area of Illinois.
There used to be regular Eisenmenger family reunions covering three states, Illinois, Minnesota and Nebraska. They would take over a county park. I haven't been to one in many years. I am not sure that they still occur.
The Eisenmenger family is very large. The largest listing of the family I have seen was maintained by Ted Utecht on the web. The address is . I haven't looked at it in some time, and when I tried to access it just now, the browser couldn't seem to find it. It may have been removed.
A little information: Peter died on 12 July 1913. His father, also Peter, was born 9 May 1806 in the Saar, Germany, and died 1 May 1888. Both are buried in the cemetery at the country church (St. Mary's ?) just outside Pesotum.
The elder Peter's wife was Barbara Schuets, but I have no dates for her.
