Ms.Walls, This seems to fit. Austin(is the spelling I have) is not a common name in the family. There is an Austin Elliott b.1815/d.1881 in Casey Co.KY just to the north. This family traces back to Ulster/Scotland.I can give you to around late 1400's. The Patriarch of the American branch is Robert Elliot b. 1695 CO.Londonderry came to PA.Middleton TWP.just N. of Carlisle in 1737 His son Robert b. 1727 in Ulster son Johnston II b.1748 in PA.and JohnstonIII b.1780 in Franklin CO.PA.Johnston came to KY if I remember right around 1803 via the Great Wagon Rd. through VA. and into KY.with his brother William.Austin was the son of Johnston Elliott III""ole Silverhead"" and Susannah Austin. He was their third child Johnston IV b.1812,Nancy b.1813, Austin b.1815, Thomas Lee b.1818. Susannah d. in 1820 and Johnston remarried Susannah Lucainah Brown and had seven more children.I can give you those names if interested. Austin m. Christianna Black Nov.4,1851 in Pulaski CO. this union brought Catherine b.1853,Calvin b.1855,George b.1857 Susan 1858,Drady E.b.1859,Martha b.1863 and Caleb b.1868 all in born in Casey CO.KY.
