From Early Records of the Luthern Church in N.Y. In Holland Society Yearbook, 1903, page 61: Samuel, child of Benjamin Elseworth and wife Famje, born March 25, at Juffrows Hoeck; baptized 1716 on Quaseck River in the Highland (See his fathers notes on being in the Highland in Ulster Co NY). Winesses: Andreas Volck and Chatarine Volckin. Baptism: 15 Apr 1716 Luthern Church, Newburgh, New York
Is the above Benjamin Elsworth and Fammetje T'velt or Benjamin and Famje Clark/Clerk. Se other posts. Newburgh was in Orange Co., NY.
I am starting to see that the Luthern Church records in NY probably cover other areas of NY that had Lutheran Churchs. I am not that familiar with the churchs of this time. The Dutch Elsworth families usually that I have found baptised mostly in the DRC (Dutch Reformed Church. Is the Luthern church different than the DRC? This may help seperate these Ellsworths.
