I accessed the book, Francis Moody (1769-1821), His Ancestors, Descendants and Related Families, by Clara Lorene (Cammack) Park, published by Gateway Press, 1001 N. Calvert St., Baltimore, Md. 21202, at the research room at the Petersburg, Virginia, Public Library. The book states that comments and questions should be addressed to the author at 3212 Kirkcaldy, El Paso, TX 79925.(Of course this was in 1984!)This book has an entire chapter on Frances Moody (female).I was interested only in the Ellyson aspect so I have not read the entire book, but I checked the index for Sterling, and one entry shows that in 1783, Arthur, Sterling, Edmond, and Daniel Moody, children of Frances Brown, were to be bound out.(Chesterfield CO., Virginia, Order Book 6, pages 418, 428.)Other entries for Sterling show that he married Mary Nunnally on Dec. 16, 1793 (Chesterfield COunty Marriage Records, 1771-1853), and in 1803 William Moody was listed as an orphan of Sterling Moody. The book shows further that indictments were handed down against Sterling and some of his brothers (reason for indictments not shown), but that Sterling was found innocent.I had only limited time at the library today, but if you cannot locate a copy of this book through an inter-library loan, or perhaps through Barnes & Noble via Internet, I will be glad to research it further for you.
