Ben Alberry (Benjamin Ellsberry) of 1810 Burke County, North Carolina seems to be connected to that group of Elsberry families in Surry, Wilkes and Ashe Counties of North Carolina in the late 1700's and early 1800's. Ben and his wife are listed as having been born in 1765 or before. No children are listed in 1810. Does anyone know of this Ben Alberry.? Is he the son of Frederick and Rebecca Ellsberry of Cecil County, Maryland.? I thought the surname Hargraves had a lot of spelling variations, but Elsberry takes the first prize. My GG Grandfather was named Alberry Harris and maybe now I am beginning to understand the origin of this most unusual given name as his father Isaac Harris lived in Burke County, North Carolina in 1810 as well as Ben Alberry. Any help would be appreciated.
