Hi Tim, I only have the one coal scrip (which is a 10 cent scrip) from Elkhorn. I went back and looked at my info and my great great great grandfather was William Elswick. He was born in Pike County, Kentucky. He was married to Mary Polly Mahan and they had a son also named William, the brother of my great great grandfather, Jasper Elswick. I wonder if maybe your great great grandfather is the same William shown as Jasper's brother. As a side note, a couple of year's ago on a short trip to Kentucky we ended up driving through the small town of Grundy, Virginia, which is just across the state line from Elkhorn City, KY. There was a large, brick building that said "Elswick Construction" on it. At the time I went through there I hadn't done any research and didn't even know my family had come from that area. Now I hope to make another trip to the area sometime soon.
