(Johann Heinrich ELTZ was the baptismal sponsor to John George BUTZ, son of Johann Wilhelm BUTZ and Maria Magdalen KURTZ (Johann Heinrich ELTZ / ELZS / ELS's half sister thru the mother) at Ringwood, NJ near the Iron Works / Forge where the " HASENCLEVER'S GERMANS", as part of the Palatine Immigration in the 1700s, emmigrated from Germany and Switzerland to the American colonies (not yet called the United States) to work. The BUTZ's (John and Christian, possible brothers from the Hirschfeld, Germany area) led many of these Germans to the Mt. Pleasant Forge near the town of Goshenhoppen, Pennsylvania (which is currently named Bally, Berks County, PA) and was under the auspices of both the Catholic St. Paul Mission (supervised by what is now named Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Philadelphia, PA) and the Jesuit Priests' St. Joseph's Mission which was under the current St. Joseph's Church also in Philadelphia, PA. These can be found on the Internet, especially with a search for Goshenhoppen, PA baptisms or deaths or marriages. Fr. Farmer is a priest who married many and his records can also be found under a Goshenhoppen search. These records are typewritten copies of the original records and one is more complete with parents names and the names of the sponsors which sometimes indicated the relationship of the individual(s) to the sponsors. Usually the Sponsors were very close relatives such as grandparents, parents, brothers and sisters and, occasionally, very close friends.)
