Thanks for the interesting information! The William Elzey in question is namedon the deed dated 1741. Evidently this property waspurchased by my ancestor Thomas Sangster sometime around 1790, as my father was in possession of the original deed on vellum. I was in contact with an Elzey descendant a few years ago who informed me that Wm. Elzey was a lawyer and a land speculator.The site of the property in somewhat in question as it doesn't seem to be listed on maps that are available from the 18th cen.
