Hi Betty!
This is very exciting!Edward E. Embrey was my great-great-grandfather, so I guess Daniel would be my great-great uncle?Does that sound right?
Daniel left Virginia in 1868 and came to Saline County, Missouri. Two brothers already were here - Edward E. and John W.
I have a copy of a letter from some long-lost relative (with no last name!) dated Jan. 9, 1967 that I can mail to you.It starts off with a Robert Embrey born in VA. in 1706, died 1790 at age 84.His second som Thomas was a private in the American Revolution and was buried on family burying grounds in Summersduck, VA.He was granted two hundred acres of land by Legislature of VA on April 15, 1783 as war bounty, then in VA - now in Kentucky.Do you know where this Summerduck is?
Anyway, sounds like we are related along the line somewhere!Do you live in Virginia?I live in Missouri.Oh yes, and I found out something really interesting about Edward E.'s wife! Her name was Missouri Ann Jackson, and we all think she must have been Indian! She would have been my great-great-grandmother.
Amyway, I can mail you all of the info I have.Do you have any old letters, or pictures, etc.?I would love to have copies of anything related to the Embrey line.
Thanks for answering!Joyce
