My Amick roots in Bedford Co., PA, begin with John Amick/Emich (b. ca. 1778) m. Anna Maria Brill (b. 1774). She and the rest of her Brill family came from Nockamixon Twp., Bucks Co., PA to Lovettsville, Loudoun Co., VA around the time of the Revolution. There, she met Johannes Emich/Amick/Emig, whom she married around 1795-1805...I haven't seen a proved marriage for them. Their children were born in Bedford Co., PA. A number of Lovettsville families migrated to Bedford Co. ca. 1795--1810. I'm descended from their son David Amick.
I've seen some Emig groups ca. 1750-70 in York Co., PA, and wonder if my Johannes Emich/Emig was originally from that area. Has anyone traced their Emich lines to Lovettsville, Loudoun Co., Va., and their "German Settlement" (New Jerusalem Evan. Lutheran Church, and St. James German Reformed)?
