It's a great story, but sadly I have to disagree. Surnames did not become hereditary and pass from father to children in England until the 12th century or later, whereas Queen Emma had been dead for centuries by then. In some cases the surname may simply designate a child of Emma, but this would be a much later Emma (or several of them - no reason to suppose a single family line) than the Norman lady in question. Sorry!
