I've been working backwards in time since February with Census Records and other sources and have traced my family back to Dundas and Stormont Counties in Ontario Canada.I have Philip Empy(spelling changed to Empey around 1875)b. 1808 and Levina (Dillebough)b.1813 with 11 children. George b.1831, John b.1833(John is my Great Grandfather), twins Benjamin and Joseph b.1839, Mariah b.1837, Catherine b.1843, Phely b.1845, Philip b.1847, Levina b.1849. Guy b. 1853, and Alice b. 1856.George, John and Alice(Manhart) ended up in Northfield, Minnesota as early as 1863.Benjamin was in Northfield in 1870, became Naturalized, but I can't find where he ended up. John(my Great Grandfather) was a carpenter and owned a grocery store. George farmed and later in life was an Alderman on the Northfield City Council.Alice Manharts husband was a coal dealer. The Manharts also came from Dundas County Ontario, Canada. Fascinating journey so far. Can anyone connect?
