Incorrectly placed WW2 Medal
Greetings from NZ Endean Family ! I have recently discovered that one of six Medals, awarded to my late Uncle John ( Royal Engineers 1938 to 1946 ), is the rightful property of Gunner ENDEAN, Royal Artillery. While my Uncle "earned "this medal, he appears to have been sent the one issued to Gunner Endean in error. I am sure Unc. never read the inscription around the rim, otherwise it would not now be in my possession.
The medal is :- The Efficient Service Medal ( T )
MY GREATEST DESIRE IS TO RETURN THIS MEDAL TO EITHER GUNNER ENDEAN HIMSELF, OR IN THE EVENT HE HAS PASSED AWAY, TO HIS SURVIVING NEXT OF KIN.I AM PREPARED TO PAY POSTAGE FROM NZ.
Any Endean Family member can claim the medal I have, but before I mail it, I would need to be told Gunner Endean's initial, and his Service Number would of course be proof positive.
I am getting negative assistance from M.o.D, The British Legion or any other scource of inf. which I try !
CAN THE FAMILY ASSIST ?.....Best wishes Bruce Graham
