In the name of God Amen.I John Endsley of the County of Lincoln State of North Carolina who being very sick but of sound and perfect mind & memory thanks be to God for his Mercy toward me do this 21st day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred thirty one make & publish this my last will and testament in the manner following.That is to say:
1st I commend my Soul to God who gave it & my body to be interred in a Christian like manner believing that it is appointed for all men once to die hoping that I shall be raised up at the last day with him who is Lord of Lord and King of Kings.
2nd.I give and bequeath unto Eliza, Anna, Amy Wilson, daughters of Sally Wilson the tract of land whereon I have resided which outlies [? illegible] my improvements the rest of my land and property collateral thereon I want to be sold & disposed of as follows: 1stI want my Just debts to be paid. 2ndI give and bequeath unto Sally Wilson daughter of Robert Wilson twenty five dollars. 3rdI give and bequeath unto my mother Deborah Endsley twenty bushels of corn the remainder of the corn to be sold with all my other property & equally divided amongst all my brothers & sisters [? illegible], Jas Endsley, Sally Cochran, Polly McFarland [? illegible] Martha Endsley, Betsy Carroll, William Endsley & Debra Endsley ___________ And I hereby appoint and ordain Christoper Carpenter, Jr & Robert M. Wilson Exrs of my Last Will and Testament.

Note:Someone in a different handwriting penned in "Jr." after this John Endsley's name on the will. Doesn't appear that he ever married, much less went to Tennessee.
