Reflections of a fulfilled life, our mother and grandmother, CLIMMIE HULETT ENDSLEY born in East Texas on May 2, 1910 to the late Sid Hulett and Ellen Bayson. She was raised in a very loving and caring home where she attended public school in East Texas, where she also helped raise three of her siblings. She met and married Homer Endsley and then moved to Houston where they had a baby named, James Bernard Endsley. In 1961, while in Houston she adopted and raised four nephews and one niece. She was a successful business owner of Endlsey & Son Mortuary, a large tavern and several rental properties in the Fifth Ward Community. She owned and operated the Twist Cafe for over 35 years. Upon retiring, she joined Fountain of Life Church of God in Christ under the pastorage of Elder Carl Brown; where she was mother of the church and a faithful and supportive member. She supported the Houston Police Dept. Assoc. and several 5th Ward Community organizations. She was a member of the Progressive Grand Chapter Number One Order of O.E.S. On Friday, August 1st at 1:30am at a local hospital, God sent a host of angels to lead Mother Climmie home to claim her reward in Heaven and to join her parents, husband and granddaughter Sonja Joseph, brother R.B., sister Emma walk the streets paved with Gold. Leaving to rejoice the bouquet of wonderful memories are her dedicated sons, James Sr. and wonderful daughter-in-law, Regina Endsley, and Silester Earl Rivers; two very special grandsons, James Bernard Endsley, Jr. and Tony Draper; brothers, S.J. Hulett; granddaughters, Willa Washington (Kary), Brandy Endsley, Chandra Slaughter, Demetris Atkins; grandsons, Michael Joseph (Tonya), Joseph Andress, Thadeus Hall; very special great granddaughter, Climmie Lee Joseph; great grandchildren Alean, Vondra, Bernard, Paige, James, J.T., Jasmine, Xochilt, Sherrod, Jalen, Rasasha, Julia, Johvanna, Beonka, Lil Red, Terry, Deleon, Brittany, Shaniqua; adopted children, Raymond Steward, Mason Steward, James Steward, Ezeal Steward, Mary Ann Steward Butler; step children, John, Maryann, and Paula, Ymika Walters, and a host of other loving family and friends. Visitation: Thursday, August 7, 2003 from 6:00 - 9:00pm. Funeral Service, August 8,2003 at 11:00am. Both services will be held at New Birth Community Church, 2703 Ralston. Interment, Shiloh Cemetery (Moscow, TX).
