Well, I did some digging, but cannot find any parents for Agnes. But I did find some interesting facts on the family, based on the US Census.
1910 shows the family of Cairo and Agnes Ensley in Fannin Co., GA, where Cairo is working across the TN state line in the copper mines. They have kids Rubie - 7, Worth - 4, and Irene - 2.
By 1920 they mostly disappear. Apparently when Agnes died in 1919, they family had to split up.
Rubie (also spelled Ruby) and baby sister Thelma show up in 1920 as "Endsley," lodging with a Sullivan family in Union Co., GA. Though Thelma was born in CA, where Cairo lives on as a boiler maker for the railroad, little Thelma has been turned over to this GA family to raise.
Son, Worth, ends up in TN near Chattanooga, in Hamilton Co. I can never find Irene again after 1920.
The 1910 Census says Agnes was born in GA, and on Censuses subsequent to her death, her children state their mother was born in GA (not NC.) But they could be wrong, and if you have evidence of her being born in NC, I'd appreciate it.
The 1920 Census erroneously shows Irene being born in TN, when actually she was born across the line in Fannin Co., GA, according to teh 1910. (A lot of peopl in that area have confusion over place of birth, as the town of Copper Hill, TN, spills into GA).
I have made a lot of notes on them today, and included them in my Rootsweb website, which I have just now updated:
