I used to have Andrew as the father of William Grant Ensley; after all, William was born nearly a generation after Andrew. But the top two Ensley researchers in the country pointed out to me that Andrew was William's elder brother. So Andrew can be cut out between John Endsley and William Grant Ensley.
I wish I could dig up more on John Angley. Surely there must be a land record, immigration record, marriage record, something.
By the way, your uncle Richard was my 3C1R on the Ensley line, and my 4C1R on the Parris line. (A lot of Ensleys in NC married Parrises!)
And since Richard comes down from the David and Mary (Morrow) Parris line, look at his pedigree on my Rootsweb site and you can trave him back to the Mayflower Pilgrims two ways. (See link below). Trave David Parris to Samuel Parris JR, then Samuel Parris SR, whose mother was Abigail Rogers.. then trave her back to Thomas Rogers. Then go back down and trace Samuel Parris JR's mother, Ruth Bonney, back to Henry Samson. These are Mayflower lines.
NOW, trace Ruth Bonney back to her great-grand mother Bonney, who was Mary Elizabeth Hunt...notice that Mary Elizabeth Hunt's mother's mother was Katherine Harby. Katherine's mother was Katherine Throckmorton, whose father was Sir Clement Throckmorton. His maternal line goes Vaux - Fitzhugh - Neville - Neville - Beaufort - Gaunt - King Edward III.From Edward III, there is a direct line through centuries of English, Scottish, and Irish monarchs, until reaching one of Ireland's earliest queens, Tamar. Tamar arrived in Ireland as Princess Tamar, surviving daughter of King Zedekiah, who was killed when Nebuchanezar conquered Jerusalem in 600 BC. Zedekiah's genealogy is listed in the Bible clear back to King David, and guess what... David's genealogy is recorded from him clear back to Adam and Eve! So, you can trace a direct line in my Rootsweb tree from Richard Howard Ensley, to Adam and Eve.
Ain't this fun!
(PS: There are volumes of proof that Tamar fled to Egypt with a bunch of Israelites, including the prophet Jeremiah... where the Egyptians called her Tea Tephi. And that she did sail until crashing on the shores of Ireland, where she married an Irish king. Every monarch native to the British Isles has always claimed this lineage.)
