Julie.............you might want to go to "http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com", and select "Advanced Find".Enter...... Place Name: Jollett State or Province: Virginia Country: United States Place Type: City Then select "USGS Topo Map 1 Jul 1984". When it comes up, press the top arrow (View Images in the North Direction), and then press the right arrow (View Images in the East Direction). A little to the right of top center on the map will be "Utz Gap", and there is a trail to the southeast from there to the West Fork of Naked Creek.Follow the creek straight south to a small hollow below Long Ridge. In 1810 this area was in Rockingham County.
If you go to: "http:rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/va/rockingham/census/1810rock.txt" you will find the census for that year, which reads in the order of the path that the census taker took from Utz Gap down to the hollow.Flip through it until you find:

Our family was lucky to have one of the first television sets, and I watched your mother perform live on the Arthur Godfrey Amateur Show. She looked and talked just like my Aunt Carla (b. 1930,daughter of Mildred Eppard) who I thought was just about the most beautiful woman in the entire world. When Godfrey asked her if she had country backgound, she said "I'm just a country girl from Hensley Hollow".I can assure you that she spoke with absolute authority, as country roots don't get much deeper than ours.
You can contact me at "Grandpapack@aol.com" if you wish.Nice hearing from you.
