We have not corresponded in quite a long time. I have limited time to work on family history but I do like to chip away at it. I would be most appreciative if you could share more of what your research has yielded. I was so very happy to receive the batch of material you sent earlier.
I am wondering if you have found any information on any branch of the Eppinger family who went to New Orleans, LA from Europe. My great-grandfather Joseph Klein who came to the US from Alsace, whose mother was an Eppinger, was encouraged by an uncle living in New Orleans to avail himself of opportunities in the US. I do not know if the uncle was an Eppinger or a Klein or ??? Joseph Klein left Europe on October 24, 1857 and landed in New Orleans on December 27, 1857. He work in a French wholesale house for two years. Then he was invited by his priest brother Rev. Franz Ignaz Kleinto come up to Indiana to teach in a school he was building. Fr. Klein was sent to Indiana from France to minister to the settlers there. He built churches in various parts of Indiana.
