Ralf,
Hello again!I just received some materials from another friend researching Erbes families, and it was very helpful to me in tying my line back to the old country.
It looks like my ancestors came from Appenheim.I don't know if that is a village, town, county, or what. But several of the early names are John Henry, John George, John Phillip and so on - which if you re-make them into German names - would be some of those on your list.
Since the names seem pretty common for the Erbes family, I thought I would check to see if Appenheim was part of or close to the area you were researching. If it is, I will transcribe some notes and send them your way if you like.
