Ezra was born, 18 Aug 1880, son of Mitchell and Marguerite (LeDoux)Ereaux.Mitchell was born in Quebec, Canada, and when he was still a boy he was brought to Minnesota.He became a grain buyer, owned his own elevator in Topeka, MN, died on his homestead in 1891, age 62. Marguerite LeDoux was born in Illinois, daughter of Mitchell LeDoux. Children of Mitchell and Marguerite Ereaux: Annie (Mrs. Brome Ducette, d. in MN); Frank (Little Falls, MN); Philander (Topeka, MN); Florence (Mrs. Ed Arvet, Malta, MT); Lucy (Mrs. Archie Houle, Wagner, MT); Ezra (Wagner, MT); Adolph (Dodson, MT); William (Little Falls, MT).
Ezra attended country schools in MN until age 16, when he assisted his father, but then came to Montana and worked as a ranch hand in the vicinity of Dodson and the Bear Paw Mountains.He became a clerk in the store at Belknap, MT, for two years. For five ensuing years he went into business as a freighter from the different Great Northern Railway stations to the mines at Zortman.He filed on a homestead near Wagner, MT,disposed of his freighting business, and began raising cattle and horses. 1916-1919 he added sheep to his ranch.
On 23 Oct 1902, Little Falls, MN, Ezra married Miss Claris Houle, daughter of Henry and Sarah (Doucette) Houle, both born in Quebec and in 1878 came to homestead in Morrison County, MN.
