Hi, my name's Arika Errington, I'm from Canberra originally but am now residing in Melbourne.
My father's (B.1941) family originate from the UK and I believe he did spend part of his life in SA from 7-13 which would have been in the late 40's early 1950's.
On our British family tree the first Errington was named William De Erring in the year 1128, he owned Colleries in Little Wittington and a Castle, Castle Beaufort handed over to treason trustee's, tried for treason for leading the second army of france against england, was allowed his life but had to give up Beaufort and lands in north hampton, however he was allowed to keep his Colleries (Coal mines).
My great grandfather, Alexander William Errington was the first of our Errington's to arrive in Australia when he was around 21.
Most of our Errington clan have the names William, and Alexander and also Alec in their names. My Father being William Alexander Errington.
Also, Mrs Fitzherbert had a morgonatic marriage to king george the 4th, she was the daughter of John Errington.
There's a book written about her and if you google her you'll find much info on her.
We have discovered that one of our Errington's settled in America (Errington Engineering Company was formed) One went to Canada one Errington known as "the mad russian count" family tree notes no wife, no will, died an imbecil, he was made a count for helping a russian zhar win a war. photograph can be found of this Errington with the Zharina and foreign affairs minister for UK. he died at approx 90 in queen victoria time..
I hope this has helped some, if you need any other information you can contact me via emal - firstname.lastname@example.org my aunt a few years ago did do up a family tree so if you need to view it I'm sure I could get a copy.
