I am your second cousin on the Prieskorn side. Your dad, Joesph or Joe, is my first cousin. Your Grand-dad, Milton, or Mick to me, and my father, Rudy Prieskorn, where brothers. I know your father real well, and I even remember seeing you several times in Fort Dodge at your Grand-dad's home when you where just a little thing. Your dad calls us frequently, if he is passing thru Lexington, South Carolina in his truck. In fact, we just spoke to him about 2 weeks ago. I am 51 years old, but people tell me I look like I am in my late thirties....go figure. I have a son, Trevor, who just turned 10 on August 6th. I guess he is the one who is keeping me young. My dad, Rudy (whose name was Rufus), died in 1987 with Alzheimers. My mother, Dorothy, is 85 and she lives with Trevor and me. I have been divorced since Trevor was 4 months old. I have been a RN for the last 25 years, but 4 years ago, I contracted a severe case of Fibromyalgia. I don't know if you know anything about it or not, but it makes your muscles spasm, and you live in constant pain. I am no longer able to do nursing, but I work as a secretary for the Aid Assoc for Lutherans. It is an insurance company that sells life insurance and annuities to Lutherans only. It is not much of a job, but it is the only thing I can do physically. I was also diagnosed 2 weeks ago with Osteoporosis. When it rains, it pours. I just now got my computer, and I am taking classes to do Medical Transcription work at home. I have all the medical knowledge, I just need help with the computer side of it. I am so glad I found you. I don't have much contact with the Prieskorn side of the family, since all of daddy's brothers and sisters have passed away, and I didn't know how to get in touch with any of my cousins. This is just great!!!! Do you know anything about any of our other cousins? Like Kenneth, and John's families? It would be great to catch up to them and maybe get them on this web site too. This is just too cool. It is 15 passed midnight on Saturday, September 3, and I am playing on the web trying to get used to using it, and I came across this web page quite by accident, so I thought I would put in Prieskorn and see what happened. WOW...I never expected this. I live in Lexington, South Carolina, and my address is:
322 Vanderbilt Road
Lexington, South Carolin 29072-2224
Phone: (803) 957-6286
I would love to hear from you, by email or by letter, or phone. You know as well as I do, that there are not a whole lot of Prieskorns out there, and I think we need to keep this generation in touch so the family doesn't fade away not knowing they have relatives out there. Maybe, between the two of us, we can make a connection with some of the others. Let your dad know, the next time to talk to him, about our finding each other. I know he will be excited, because he is always in touch with us, and even sent flowers one day. He keeps promising to stop by to see us the next time he is down this way and not in a hurry to get back on the road. Patty, PLEASE let me hear from you! I am so excited about this. I guess the internet is really something useful after all.
Your cousin,2nd I think,
Donna Prieskorn Howser
