WARREN E. ESTY

Warren E. Esty, a former resident and business man of Chatsworth, years ago, passed away at his home on Fargo Ave., Buffalo, N.Y., March 26, 1913, at the age of 80 years. He leaves his widow, one brother, George E. Esty, of Gray's Lake, Ill., two sisters: Mrs. Julia Schreiner, of Chicago and Mrs. Sarah Chittenden, of Grays Lake, Ill.
Mr. Esty came to Chatsworth from Gilman, Ill, in 1861, and entered the dry goods business with E.A. Bangs, in partner under the firm name of Esty & Bangs. Several years later he disposed of his interests to E. A. Bangs and brother. During his residence here he filled the offices of justice of the peace and school trustee. In 1874 he married Miss Hannah Kirby and removed to Chicago where he engaged in the florist business and about 1884 he went east and settle in Buffalo, where he had since resided.
Warren E. Esty was the fourth child of eight children of Moses and Julia (Goodrich) Esty and was born in Stoughton, Mass., October 4, 1853. He was of English ancestry and a direct descendant of Jeffery Esty, who came from Ipswich, England in the year 1636 and settled in Salem, Mass.
The funeral took place at Buffalo on March 28, 1913
