My brother recently had his y-chromosome dna tested through ftdna.com . We were surprised to learn that he matched the Etherington family DNA (we are Jarnagins). I am writing to ask that if any of you have already had the y-chromosome dna test done, that you, if you don't mind, post your results at www.ysearch.org.This site is hosted by Family Tree DNA, but it is free and open for use by everyone, no matter who you tested with. By posting results at this site, it is possible to see if you match others who have also tested, regardless of the company they used. Just this week, I found a match here with a man from England. I know there were several men who tested with another company. Their results are private and are not available for comparison. I would love to be able to compare the different Etherington (whatever spelling) lines as I try to determine which one I fit into. If you descend from Robert H. (1810 KY - 1875 IA) or James T. (abt 1806 0 ??), I would particularly like to compare your results. For that matter, any male descendant of John Ethington (1774-1822), their father.
