Greetings to the Eveland surname board - I am trying to find info on some acquaintances of my deceased father Richard Coleman, who was born around 1901 (give or take), lived in New York City around the late 1930's to approximately 1944, and moved to Forest Glen/Silver Spring, Maryland around 1944.My dad died in Maryland in 1961, without us ever identifying the names or last known whereabouts of any of his supposedly large family.
Richard Coleman supposedly moved to the Forest Glen area of Maryland around 1944 or so, and may have stayed in a trailer with a lady who was the sister of a Louise (last name unfortunately unknown), and a Carol Eveland.Louise worked in NYC with my father, and her family was from Pennsylvania (eastern PA?).Louise may have visited Forest Glen periodically to see my father.Carol Eveland was also from Pennsylvania (Hazleton, Bethlehem?), and married Karl Gabash in Maryland in 1947.Karl still is alive in Forest Glen, Maryland; Carol passed away in 1991.I unfortunately was not able to talk to Carol about my father and his relationship with Louise, or about his family.I do believe an elderly lady from Louise's family came to our house on Grant Avenue (Forest Glen/Silver Spring) in the early 1950s, but I have no idea what the visit was about.
Perhaps by identifying and locating some of his friends or their families, we might get a little closer to solving my father's mystery.See http://members.aol.com/rcole49766/web/mystery.htmlhttp://members.aol.com/rcole49766/web/mystery.htmlfor a picture of Richard Coleman.
PLEASE forgive the lengthy post.Bob Coleman firstname.lastname@example.org
