Evens index Website major updates
New major additions to the Evans/Evens Index Website.
ADDED: 1840 Alabama and Georgia Evans Indexes
ADDED: Query ---Crunch Time!
All (694 Indexed) 1840/1850 Evans/Evens Families and isolated individuals for both Alabama and Georgia included in one file and sorted by first name. Remember county lines changed so a different county from 1840 to 1850 does not mean a family or individual moved. Also be aware Alabama and Georgia have counties with the same name. Always check both state and county to avoid confusion.
This Query yielded some interesting results.
I think you Alabama and Georgia Evans researchers will find it to be a useful tool
in connecting and following some of the families from GA to AL or AL to GA
from 1840 and 1850.
Also this is within the "Trail of Tears" time period for those Evans of Indian heritage who were on the Census rolls.
ADDED
Bullentin Board for corrections.
If you find information you feel that needs a correction, a bulletin board is now
on the site to report errors.I will not have the time to make changes so please
do not send any to my email address, unless it is a major error like a wrong link.
This is a free site and designed for the Evans researchers to post and check for
corrections on their own.My schedule demands it be maintenance free.
Believed errors can also be checked with published indexes in genealogy
libraries or collections.
The bulletin board is also if you would like to leave information for your
family listed in these indexes. Please only post Alabama and Georgia
Evans/Evens families due to the limited application to free bulletin boards.
