Hi Tim, Thank you for the post. I am not related to Samuel Ewart. My interest is in Samuel's wife, Caroline FIRST and her ancestry. One of my ancestors married into the FIRST family. I am hoping to get in touch with someone in the Ewart family that might have info. re Caroline and her family.
Below is a link to information regarding the Ewarts. When it comes up, click on Huntington and in the search part, put EWART. Up will come several obits which I think you'll find interesting.
After your post, I did some more digging and did come up with second wives for David Oliver and Samuel.
The 1900 IN census, Huntington Co. shows David age 58, b. IN and wife Mary E. Ewart, age 56, b. IN. Two sons, Lloyd J. age 25 and Emmett B. age 23. I guess you are either a descendant of these two sons or of David's first wife, Rhoda.
Samuel (Theodore) in 1900 Rock Creek, IN, b. Jul. 1846 has a new wife, Nancy M. b. Nov. 1861, 38, b. IN. Perhaps you can locate her maiden name.
I also found Alpha Ewart with wife, Lulu, age 37 b. KY with their two sons, Harry C. age 17 in 1910 census and Hazel M. age 14.
Vernie V. Ewart, dau of David & Rhoda, married John H. WILL, 2 March 1899 Huntington Co., IN.
If you go to interment.net and search Huntington Co., IN you will find references to burials of EWARTS.
