Was Mary's maiden name EWER?According to one website, she was Mary WALLEN, widow of Henry EWER, who married (2) John JENKINS. She's not my ancestor, so it doesn't affect me, but you may want to check out the following website:
It shows Ralph WALLEN, born ca. 1595, came to New England in 1623 on the "Anne" with his wife Joyce.Ralph died bef. 27 Feb. 1642/43, probably in Plymouth, Mass.; his wife Joyce died after 19 Sept. 1683.
Their two children are listed as:
1. Mary WALLEN, b. ca. 1628, prob. Plymouth MA, d. aft. 05 April 1693, Barnstable MA married (1) HENRY EWER ca. 1648; married (2) John JENKINS on 02 Feb. 1652/53, Barnstable, Mass.
2. Thomas Wallen, born ca. 1630, probably in Plymouth, Mass.
Also, the book _Genealogical Notes of Barnstable Families_, by Amis Otis, has a chapter on the EWER family. Mary isn't shown as one of the children of Thomas and Sarah EWER, but it's a fairly old book (1888), and there may be more current research.
