I have three connections to EWINGs which I hope someone can help me with.
(1)FRANCES (FANNY)EWING, who was the daughter of SAMUEL TARVER and his wife, FRANCES MURDEN, widow of JONAS HAILE.
The TARVERS were originally from Northampton Co., NC, from which he served in the Revolutionary War. He also represent-ed his area in the lower house of the NC Legislature. He and his wife brought their blended family and settled in Wilson Co., TN, where he died by 3-4-1833 (date his will was recorded). Daughter FRANCES was married to a EWING before 7-4-1830, date SAMUEL made his will.[This is NOT the SAMUEL TARVER who settled in Knox Co., TN, who was a cousin of this branch of the TARVER family.]
Who was FRANCES TARVER's husband named EWING?Was he related to the ALEXANDER EWING family of Davidson Co., TN, from which JAMES EWING was a son? This JAMES received land from his father located in Wilson Co., and JAMES lived in Wilson.
(2) HARRIET (HETTIE)AMANDA EWING who married CALVIN TARVER PERRY, a grandson of WILLIAM TARVER and SUSANNAH DEW of Wilson Co., TN.He is an heir to his grandfather TARVER and is mentioned in his will.
HETTIE was the great-granddaughter of ANDREW EWING (1780-1813) and SUSANNAH SHANNON.They were among the first settlers of what became Nashville, DAVIDSON CO., TN.
ANDREW EWING and ALEXANDER EWING (above) do not seem to be from the same family branch....but perhaps they are?????
I would appreciate any information on either EWING line, particularly that of FRANCES TARVER EWING, as I have no data on her husband or children.
